Cosmic Insights – July 24, 2023 July 24, 2023

The celestial week of July 24, 2023, begins with the Sun rising in majestic Leo to assume its rightful throne in the sky, illuminating an opportunity to creatively start something with joy and love or with fear and worry that can affect many others in a metaphorical epidemic. 

 However, the caveat is that whatever energy is sent out always returns to the sender, so a demonstration of ruling oneself with love, courage, and dignity will reap the rewards from and through others, grandstanding with the pride of the ego may lead to a personal downfall.  It is the distinct difference between a charismatic leader with the ability to conquer the world with grace so the world bows at its feet, or having it crumble around you with the arrogance of ruling the world for the sake of ruling it, without caring for the world that gave the power to do so.

An esteemed friend Tre Gray, shared his best analogy for the Sun in Leo as relative to the relationship of Mufassa and Scar in the movie, the Lion King, which sums up the difference between the generous, courageous, and regal nature of the Sun in Leo, or the deadly hunter who covertly stalks its prey without regard for the sacrifice of life to satisfy its fearful nature.  It is human nature to have both options available, yet it is also human nature to consciously choose which of those options is for the highest good of all concerned.

Meanwhile, the Moon is moving gracefully through fair-minded Libra at fifteen degrees with a realization that the same emotional cycle of events and energy appears to be repeating itself relative to resources, self-values, and relationships.  Yet, fifteen degrees is a half-way point to consciously transforming self-values to achieve an emotional balance.

The caveat is that Venus the queenly ruler of Libra had just begun to reverse direction in Leo, so circumstances and events since June 19, 2023, are up for review regarding changes that were being considered and are now being reconsidered relative to their value.

Thus, the key to moving through the changes is to embrace the temporary hiatus to reevaluate the quality of resources and relationships, to determine if your self-values are attracting twenty-four-carat or ten-carat gold.  

If the quality of attraction is less than desired, now is a time to clean off the accumulated tarnish of negative thoughts, behaviors, and self-values during the next six weeks without indulging in creative drama trauma!  Otherwise, you may find that your audience has vacated the premises!

The emotional climate begins to shift on July 25, as the Moon steals silently into the secretive emotional terrain of Scorpio to stir up the emotional pain of the past for resolution.  The caveat is that every time the pain is remembered as an emotional defense mechanism, it is also self-inflicted torture that becomes anchored into present experiences.  The key and the power of the Scorpio Moon is to determine what needs to be learned from the past and integrate those lessons in a positive mindset to release the negative emotions associated with the past, so you can get on with a new way of life!

The first encounter that the Moon in Scorpio experiences is a first-quarter phase with the Sun in Leo later in the afternoon, so emotional challenges may arise over control issues regarding financial affairs which requires active communication to resolve.  The caveat is that the energy of Scorpio and Leo is characterized as stubborn and determined once a position is taken with neither backing down, so the communication needs to be qualified as what can be improved upon, instead of what is wrong.

On the midmorning of July 24, Mercury in Leo joins Venus retrograde in Leo for an opportunity to find the metaphorical gold of past relationships to recover the valuable resources of loving oneself with an open and trusting heart, redefined self-values, and an attitude of gratitude for the gift of love to oneself and others!

Later in the evening, the Moon jumps into fiery Sagittarius with the emotional optimism for a new adventure or at least a party!  So, if you can manage to start the weekend off early, go for it! It may be just what is needed to shake off the weight and the heat of the past few days for some well-deserved emotional relief!

Just as the work day ends on July 28, Mercury moves into work-related Virgo, so starting the weekend off early may be a great strategy to avoid working over the weekend, as plans may go sideways unpredictably!
