The celestial week of August 14, 2023, begins with the Sun rising in supremely confident Leo as it strides across the sky in all of its grandeur, illuminating an opportunity to create lines of communication with good tidings and positive messages.  

While the Sun in Leo graces the sky with the dignity of a king in command of its royal subjects, it does interact with Neptune retrograde in Pisces and Pluto retrograde in Capricorn, who are both adept at holding the king accountable for the decisions that go along with the authority and power of a leader.  During the ongoing process of accountability, there is a yod forming between the Sun, Neptune, and Pluto which has a quality of fated destiny about it that requires attitude adjustments from the Sun to justify a position of power executed and whether it was in good faith for the highest good or a personal purpose of gain and power. 

Whereas, Venus has just exchanged politically correct values with the Sun in Leo as it continues to retrograde through the rays of the Sun with a chance to restore the nature of Spirit through ceremony, rituals, and worship. 

On another note, the union of Venus and the Sun on August 13, symbolized a valuable turning point in the Venus retrograde cycle.  While Venus does not begin to move forward in the retrograde cycle until September 3, it does shine a proverbial light at the end of the tunnel relative to creativity, purpose, values, relating, and resources.  Thus, while caution is still a safe bet about moving too quickly when making valuable decisions, it is beginning to be a bit brighter about the direction to move forward in.

Meanwhile, the Moon has also just danced onto the emotional stage of Leo and may have some difficulty in containing emotional reactions to what is being revealed behind the scenes about resources and relationships, which could precipitate an emotional drama trauma!

However, the advantage of the Moon’s position in Leo is that it is in a balsamic lunar phase with the Sun in Leo offering a window of emotional balm to let go of the intentions seeded at the recent new moon in Cancer on July 17, 2023.  It is also a short window in the cycle to release habits, emotions, and others to relieve the emotional tension of the cycle in preparation for the new moon cycle in Leo on August 16.

However, a first-quarter square or a ninety-degree angle between the Sun in Leo and Uranus in Taurus on the evening of August 15, may test stress levels as the Sun in Leo could feel misunderstood relative to creativity, children, or romance as it challenges Uranus in Taurus to take a risk relative to financial resources or relationships that have become stagnant regarding a difference of values.

In the early hours of August 16, a new moon cycle in Leo occurs on the heels of the Sun/Uranus tension-filled challenges that may have been responsible for a restless night or lack of sleep may carry over into the new cycle of energy.  Yet, Venus retrograde in Leo is the ruler of Uranus in Taurus so the Sun will likely have the advantage point in this match and the cycle itself.  The key is to create intentions that have built-in flexible attitudes that are open to them changing before the new moon cycle ends.

Another point of consideration is all the yod formation between the Sun, Neptune, and Pluto continues to become exact and therefore more potent, an attitude adjustment relative to recognizing that the true source of power exists when the ego takes a big step back in gratitude for the gift to experience the creative power of the Master Creator.  As Proverbs 16:18 cautions, “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.” (1)

The lunar climate shifts subtly on the evening of August 16, as the Moon rides into practical Virgo on a bicycle in an effort to conserve resources and a healthy appreciation for climate concerns. 

As Virgo energy is precisely aware of the value of time as well as financial resources, emotional and mental energy is also being used to seek solutions relative to the action needed to preserve a healthy work atmosphere during the trip.  There is also the matter of being responsible for executing routine tasks assigned by the CEO who is currently on a leave of absence.

Fortunately, the Moon in Virgo has planetary support from Mercury in Virgo for practical ideas, Mars in Virgo for a plan of action, encouragement from Jupiter in Taurus, intuitive insights from Uranus in Taurus about sound financial values, and the right use of power from Pluto in Capricorn.  In fact, with such a supportive team in place, Saturn in Pisces the current CEO may find that it has been replaced when it returns!

However, the caveat is that Mercury in Virgo went into the shadow on August 3, of an upcoming retrograde cycle on August 23, suggesting that the “best-laid plans of mice and men, often go awry!” (2)
