Cosmic Insights – July 25, 2022 July 24, 2022

The celestial week of July 25, 2022, begins with the Sun rising in the brilliant rays of Leo announcing its glorious presence in the sky while illuminating an opportunity to assert independence as a unique individual free of the social expectations and constraints of the opinions of others.  While the Sun in Leo is center stage in its own right, it also engages favorably with Jupiter in Aries offering huge opportunities for expansion to express creativity fueled by love and passion.  The key is to utilize this brief window before Jupiter begins to retrograde in Aries on July 28 shortly after the new moon in Leo occurs!

As the Sun in Leo rises to greet the world, the Moon is moving through the last few degrees of Gemini and is void of course until early afternoon.  While it may not be verbally expressed, the message of the void Gemini moon is there is not a great deal of emotional motivation to get the day started.  While the general influence of void of course moon is interpreted as nothing comes from the emotional energy invested regarding mundane or daily concerns.  However, it is very useful to take that emotional break from caretaking, cooking, nurturing, etc. to indulge in meaningful conversations with friends or like-minded others, relax with a good book, and/or contemplate what is necessary to experience hopes, wishes, and dreams, before the Moon swims into emotional Cancer after lunch.

Once the Moon wades into the highly emotional, sensitive, and vulnerable pond of feelings the next couple of days may be colored with emotional moodiness or crabby attitudes that change every few minutes or hours.   Thus, the time spent prior to the early afternoon is an opportunity to recharge emotional batteries before they become quickly drained by overwhelming input from others.  

Cancer energy is like a sponge in that it feels its way through the environment based on the quality of emotional energy present through others.  So if there is tension, emotional stress, or underlying or obvious frustration, it is like dirty water being filtered through a sponge to clean it up.

This may very well be one of those days as Venus in Cancer challenged Jupiter in Aries in the wee hours after midnight.  The challenge lies in that Jupiter is ready to jumpstart hopes, wishes, and dreams with the support of Venus in Cancer, leaving significant others to take care of family matters, while providing nurturing and financial support for the manifestation of those dreams.  The caveat is that Venus in Cancer is supervised by the Moon who is void of course upon waking, so the brief details that Jupiter provided may have gone unnoticed until later, as emotional attention was focused elsewhere.  So what was communicated before everyone went their separate ways may have seemed to have been agreed upon, without realizing what the commitment involved.  Another major consideration now is that Jupiter in Aries impulsively takes big risks, so it will be tempting to bite off more than can be digested comfortably, leaving a seven-month window of time to absorb the consequences until February 2023!

On the afternoon of July 26,  it slowly begins to sink in that decisions made or communicated from an ego position may become costly in energy and financial resources over a period of time, as Mercury in Leo challenges the actions of Mars in Taurus.  Both Leo and Taurus can dig their heels in about compromising or negotiations if either feels like one is being pushed into a position they are uncomfortable with, or left out of the decision-making process.  The key is to step back and communicate from the heart what is in the best interest of all concerned and then allow others to take their time to consider the actions that are required on their part, without a condescending attitude.

In the early hours of July 28, the Moon slips into the warm rays of Leo to cuddle up for a night of foretelling dreams about sharing heart-centered feelings upon waking.  As the current lunar phase is still balsamic, it is an excellent time to release and let go of fears that may stand in the way.  As they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Later in the afternoon, a new moon cycle occurs in Leo offering an opportunity to set intentions to create personal reality from an individual innovative perspective about the art of living instead of falling back on an established conservative viewpoint because it is either tried or true, and/or feels safe.  In the words of the French poet Jean de La Fontaine, this Leo new moon embodies the idea too, “live lightheartedly but not recklessly; to be gay without being boisterous, to be courageous without being bold; to show trust and cheerful resignation without fatalism—this, is the art of living.” (1)

Last but not least, shortly after the new moon occurs, Jupiter begins to retrograde in Aries back into Pisces until November 23, 2022.  Jupiter actually began its retrograde cycle on May 4, 2022, at 29 degrees of Pisces when it went into the shadow of the cycle with endless opportunities before it headed into Aries on May 11 to take actions relative to them.  Now that Jupiter is backing up in Aries, those actions are being reconsidered for further action.  The energy of a planet in Aries is similar to attempting to cook a quality meal quickly without the essential ingredients and then turning the heat up to high with the expectation of eating sooner than later!  With Jupiter, it is similar to throwing a pot on the stove, dumping what you have on hand in it, and hoping for the best, or that others won’t notice!  

Now, it is time to reread the recipe, purchase the correct ingredients, and plan for the time it takes to prepare it correctly, let it come to a boil, and then put it on the back burner on low heat so that it has time to cook thoroughly and blend all of the flavors together.  Get the idea?  Rushing through big plans between now and then will likely only become highly frustrating and make require starting over from scratch.
