Cosmic Insights – August 22, 2022

The celestial week of August 22, 2022, begins with the Sun rising up through the golden magnificent rays of heartwarming Leo, illuminating an opportunity to generously share thoughts and feelings that have the power to transcend the dark shadows of life with joy for the gift of it. The key is to have the courage and confidence to shine your individual light for the world to receive with unconditional love.
Meanwhile, the Moon is treading in the deep end of an emotional pond of feelings that may be dredging up sensitive and vulnerable insecurities regarding the manifestation of emotional hopes, wishes, and dreams. As swirling emotional memories take one back into the past, there may be a tendency to throw caution to the winds of change on the horizon and plunge ahead into uncertain territory if friends or like-minded others change their minds about previous plans or commitments.
However, as the Moon in Cancer is moving away from Jupiter retrograde in Aries, the feeling to take a leap of faith based on emotions without knowing the outcome is a huge temptation to resist, so the willingness to bet on yourself may pay off in a big way when Jupiter begins to move forward in mid-November. The key is to trust your gut instincts about moving forward with others, or striking out on your own.
Whereas, the caveat is that Mercury has begun its upcoming retrograde cycle in September with a preview of what may have to be reviewed, retracted, or revised, so gather the information needed to take action now, which will serve as guidance and direction until March 2023. While the current Mercury retrograde cycle began on August 20 and will conclude on October 16, the effects will continue until the Spring of 2023, as Mars has just driven into dualistic and flighty Gemini, where it will go into its shadow and September 3, and retrograde on October 30; remaining until March 2023.
Thus all areas governed by Mercury are in the zone of action and reaction including vehicles, travel by air or car, scheduling, technology, communication, sales, commerce, and possible a resurgence of illnesses related to the lungs and breathing. There may also be more accidents and injuries to the shoulders, hands, and eyes.
The astrological signs that will experience this period of time more significantly are Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. However, the key to making decisions with multiple options going in different directions is to align conscious actions with clear information, review options and choose the one that has more flexibility, become conscious of unconscious emotional feelings driving behaviors, and believe in yourself instead of what others believe about you!
If all else fails, schedule some downtime off to have some fun, meditate for peace or take long naps to rest and rejuvenate your energy, refrain from sharing personal information on social media or with others that would share it without permission, and know the details of what you are talking about, or it may come back to bite you!
Later in the evening, the Sun walks briskly into meticulous and methodical Virgo with a long list of projects to complete, ideas to communicate, and plans to be more health conscious with nutrition and exercise activities. The caveat is that the supervisor of Virgo is Mercury, which is also traveling through Virgo with the mandate that work comes first, so taking care of the physical body may go on the back burner leaving an open door for mental and physical burnout and exhaustion. So the key is to take care of mental and physical health first, pace yourself accordingly, and be patient with delays that may very well be blessings in disguise.
While the Mercury retrograde cycle is on the short end of the spectrum, the Mars retrograde cycle will be around for several months.
Shortly after the work day begins on August 24, the Moon prances into Leo with an emotional need for attention and may engineer some drama trauma that steals the show from working! However, the Sun is the king or queen or Leo and as it is currently residing in nonsensical Virgo, the curtain will come down on the play as quickly as it went up, without a word spoken. The quick stride into the building and the discerning look of authority will send others scurrying for cover before the chastising can begin!
On the evening of August 25, Mercury dances into relationship-oriented Libra, offering a brief respite from the scrutiny of Virgo’s watchful mind, to cultivate relationships with negotiations, compromises, an attitude of fairness, and hand-holding if that is what it takes to get the job done. While it is an opportunity to shore up personal relationships by clearing the air of discontent, it is imperative that each person takes equal responsibility to maintain the relationship with clear communication.
The emotional climate shifts gears on the evening of August 26 as the Moon joins the Sun in Virgo during the balsamic lunar phase, offering an opportunity to communicate emotional feelings with precise clarity that leaves no room for vague misunderstandings or misinterpretation. However, the balsamic lunar phase is characteristic of letting go of the emotional past to clear the slate for the potential of new beginnings of the new moon cycle in Virgo on August 27, 2022. The celestial week of August 15, 2022, begins with the Sun rising up through the spectacular brilliant rays of Leo, illuminating an opportunity to attain mastery over one’s energies with the courage and strength of a lion rushing in where angels fear to tread.
As the Sun in Leo continues to shine in a powerful planetary yod formation with Pluto retrograde in Capricorn and Neptune retrograde in Pisces, the current cosmic energy is symbolic of the finger of God pointing in a direction of destiny as the Sun in Leo bows to the power of Pluto in Capricorn and Neptune in Pisces to ascend one’s consciousness and release people or ideals that are holding you back from achieving spiritual goals.
The caveat is that the king of the skies is not inclined to bow to anyone or anything, so the heart of the lion has to be willing to sacrifice the ego for the highest good of the purpose of one’s life, instead of the glory of it. However, the reward of aligning one’s personal will with the will of a higher power becomes apparent as creative energy invested now from the heart is transformed and elevated to a higher vibration when Pluto in Capricorn moves forward in early October and followed by Neptune moving forward in Pisces in early December of 2022.
The key now is to follow your heart’s creative desire with faith and no attachment to how the desire unfolds and manifests.
Meanwhile, the Moon is racing through impatient Aries to take actions that open doors of potential financial opportunities relative to building sustainable wealth during the next two years. The key is to cultivate patience and do the appropriate research regarding the risks and rewards before taking action.
Before the day ends on August 16, the Moon meanders slowly into Taurus with a feeling that it has possibly bitten off more that can be chewed and digested comfortably, regarding relationships and resources. So perhaps instead of a mad dash to the alter with a long-lasting commitment, perhaps it would be wise to take a step back and reconsider it the timing is right as Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto are all retrograde now, with Uranus following on August 24, Mercury going into the shadow on August 20, and Mars entering the shadow of its upcoming retrograde cycle on September 3, 2022.
Retrograde planetary energy is suggestive of review, regret, reconsidering, redoing, and repenting, so the next few weeks are a time to back away from hasty choices and/or pressure from others to make decisions that require a commitment of financial resources and energy.
The caveat is that Venus is charming its way through Leo now, so it may be difficult to resist the temptation of falling in love at first sight that seems bigger than life! The key is to absolutely fall in love with another, creative ideas, children, and life, just take the time to weigh the responsibility of the commitment and what is involved that you can’t know at the present time. Uranus is the unpredictable planetary energy and is currently moving through Taurus, so relationships and resources can have their ups and downs until May of 2026!
The emotional climate shifts significantly on the morning of August 19, as the Moon breezes into chatty Gemini and is ready to share the news or the gossip with anyone who will listen. The celestial week of August 8, 2022, begins with the Sun rising up through the golden and crimson rays of majestic Leo, illuminating an opportunity to experience the warmth of renewal as the recent storms have dissipated and cleared the air of built-up energy, symbolizing that the worst is over, situations are resolved, and recovery begins.
Leo energy is qualified as the king or queen of the skies since the Sun is the source of light and energy that sustains the habitat of planet earth and humanity. As such, the power of the Sun is also the basis of the law of attraction, and thus the vibration that individuals emit from their consciousness, and consciously or unconsciously attracts what is positive or negative within oneself.
As the Sun in Leo is currently interacting favorably with Chiron in Aries, there is also an opportunity to shine a light on emotional wounds of abandonment or rejection with gratitude for the experiences that enhanced the ability to come out the other side with self-love and healing.
Meanwhile, the Moon is traveling through Sagittarius at warp speed towards the center of the Milky Way Galaxy with a huge opportunity to project one’s emotional vision that is being transmitted from the soul upon to and give form to material manifestation. The caveat is that the potential of the emerging masterpiece may be overshadowed by unconscious values relative to self-worth and may be resistant to motivating actions, as both the Moon in Sagittarius and Venus in Cancer engaged with Mars in Taurus and Saturn in Aquarius in yod configurations. The key is to realize that you are the vessel that is being utilized by the Creator, instead of being the creator. The other consideration is that the Moon is void-of-course until later in the afternoon, so it is wise to have no attachments to how and when the creation unfolds and manifests.
Later, the Moon shakes off the emotional optimism and philosophical attitudes of Sagittarius to enter the boardroom of Capricorn with a serious demeanor relative to success, financial resources, and business relationships. Even though Saturn the CEO of Capricorn is retrograde and currently taking a back seat at the table, it will step in to take the reins from Uranus in Taurus who is temporarily at the helm with innovative concepts about the technology of future plans. More than likely, Saturn has stepped back to consider new ideas and concepts, yet may not sign off on them until mid-October when it begins to move forward.
Minutes after midnight on August 9, Venus in Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn so compromises and negotiations are on the breakfast table pertaining to career opportunities and family relationships; which may in turn highlight challenges relative to personal hopes, wishes, and dreams that may have to go on the back burner until Jupiter goes direct in late November.
On the afternoon of August 10, the Moon streaks into lightening quick Aquarius communicating an emotionally detached attitude with abrupt departures and/or unresponsive to emails, texts, and phone calls. The key is to refrain from taking it personally now if others or yourself are currently unavailable, as personal downtime is needed to deflect the current energy building to a crescendo under the gibbous lunar phase before the full moon occurs.
Just before the workday begins on August 11, the Sun in Leo squares off with Uranus in Taurus, illuminating a need to lighten up, relax, and spend time with like-minded individuals instead of focusing creative energy on financial plans and opportunities. Thus, challenges may occur with others who are invested in moving forward with intended plans, if a temporary disappearing act by authorities creates delays.
Shortly after lunch, Venus leaves nurturing Cancer as it saunters into Leo with a dazzling gold charisma as it strolls in to conquer the world stage of acceptance and applause, sweeping others off their feet in its wake! Romance, children, and creativity are also highlighted during the next few weeks. The key is to seek the heart of gold instead of the glitter that tarnishes over time.

The celestial week of August 1, 2022, begins with the Sun rising in the grandiose rays of Leo, illuminating an opportunity to feel a temporary period of refreshment after a period of the long night of the soul, as awakening energies are signaling new beginnings. Now that the Sun has reclaimed its rightful throne in the sky, the purpose of one’s life is reawakened as well as offering an opportunity to realign that purpose with the will of a higher power.
Meanwhile, the Moon is traveling through the meticulous sign of Virgo, reflecting the mental weeds that need to be pulled so the life purpose can thrive, instead of being choked out by worry and fear. Mercury, the planetary CEO of Virgo is cruising through carefree Leo with a message to lighten up and allow Spirit to infuse your thoughts with creative energy and light.
In fact, Mercury in Leo is the apex point of a dynamic yod configuration with Neptune in Pisces and Pluto in Capricorn symbolizing that the way out of difficult circumstances is to switch on an attitude of gratitude to take advantage of the opportunity to dissolve negative energy with the power of transformation. Otherwise, it can be easy to continue upon the path of least resistance, which may be more comfortable yet yield no positive changes.
Shortly after lunch, the lunar phase becomes crescent as that small sliver of light in the night sky is opening a brief window of time to gather information relative to the intentions of the recent new moon cycle in Leo. Fortunately, the Moon is in detailed and focused Virgo and in a beneficial relationship with Pluto in Capricorn offering a fortuitous time to focus mental resources on research relative to daily work routines, business goals and plans, and the financial investments necessary to manifest those intentions of the cycle.
Later in the sunset hours, an unexpected hiccup may occur in relationships that could distract that focus, as Mars and Uranus unite at nineteen degrees of Taurus offering a new beginning of enormous potentiality that may include abrupt changes on the home front in terms of commitments to a person or project. It may also be an indicator of committed relationships going their separate ways if values regarding finances and relating are incongruent. Mars, the planet of action is tempted to move forward without a guarantee in place, so changes could be on the immediate horizon without a plan or designated outcome.
Last but not least, before the end of the day the Moon dances into charming Libra with an agenda to calm the mental chaos with soothing emotional feelings before sleep overtakes the weariness of the physical body into a restful slumber. Meanwhile, Venus the ruler of Libra is wading in the waters of emotional Cancer with a nurturing and reassuring calm that presupposes that everything works out for the best when you believe and trust in yourself.
It will be important to maintain that emotional balance during the next couple of days, as challenges, potential confrontations, and attitude adjustments arise to test the mettle of your emotional core. A key to remember is that challenges can lead to opportunities, confrontations are really opportunities for illumination, and attitude adjustments open closed doors.
In the early hours of August 4, Mercury moves out of radiant Leo into conscientious Virgo with a keen eye for detail, so ideas, concepts, communication, technology, travel, and plans will be scrutinized under the microscope of Virgo for productiveness, cost-effectiveness, and the labor required for all plans and projects relative to daily routines, vehicles, and health.
As Mercury moves through Virgo, there is also a message that now is the time to also consider the actions necessary for success until January 2023, as well as a backup plan when Mars moves into Gemini at the end of August to begin its retrograde cycle in the first week of September. Challenges now is a heads up about what may begin to unravel then.
Shortly after the sun rises, the Moon dives below the surface of emotionally intense Scorpio with a laser focus on what is not being communicated but sensed. Scorpio energy has a suspicious nature anyway, so it is not the time to push the envelope of trust, or dance around the truth as Scorpio does not play well with others when they aren’t trustworthy, and once the trust is lost, it is gone forever. Fortunately, Mercury in Virgo is good at explaining the truth in a transparent and matter-of-fact manner, which Scorpio energy respects. So with a little luck, you may walk away with slightly singed feelings instead of being scorched to the bone!
Minutes after the Sun rises on August 5, a first quarter lunar phase occurs as the Moon in Scorpio moves away from the Sun in Leo to seek emotional solace without the disapproving glare of the Sun. Leo and Scorpio are both set in their ways, so it is best to let each one go their separate ways as the energy of the first quarter phase is similar to taking an active leap of faith, so trust issues may creep in if either tries to control the outcome of the cycle.
On August 6, the emotional climate shifts when the Moon jumps into optimistic Sagittarius for an adventuresome road trip! Even though Jupiter the ruler of Sagittarius has recently retrograde in Aries, enthusiasm is not dampened for new horizons! In fact, it is probably a great time to take a much-needed break from the heat of summer, politics, news, and world events to recharge emotional batteries for the next wave of energy coming in.
On the morning of August 7, the gibbous solar phase of the yearly solar cycle occurs when the Sun reaches fifteen degrees of Leo setting up inherent wobble energy about the intentions seeded at the Spring Equinox. The wobble is similar to veering off the road being traveled upon with a lack of attention to the details required to complete the journey. The key to straightening the wheel is to contemplate the progress already made and what is required to receive the harvest of the cycle.
At this point in the cycle, this is also considered to be a celebration of the first harvest, known in the Celtic culture as Lammas, meaning the first harvest. Thus, now is a time to give gratitude for the blessings of the first harvest received to encourage the multiplication of the blessings. It is also symbolic of growing a vegetable garden to sustain oneself and share with others, as well as the lesson and the blessing of two fish and five loaves to feed five thousand from the Master teacher many years ago.
On the afternoon of August 7, Mars in Taurus squares off with Saturn in Aquarius in a first quarter phase in the Mars/Saturn cycle that began on April 4, 2022, at twenty-three degrees of Aquarius. While the cycle began with a united intention then, Mars has the desire to move forward on a leap of faith without the approval from Saturn, creating a contentious conflict between actions and commitments. However, the solution lies in taking action with reservations and responsibility for the action taken if it doesn’t work out as planned

The celestial week of July 25, 2022, begins with the Sun rising in the brilliant rays of Leo announcing its glorious presence in the sky while illuminating an opportunity to assert independence as a unique individual free of the social expectations and constraints of the opinions of others. While the Sun in Leo is center stage in its own right, it also engages favorably with Jupiter in Aries offering huge opportunities for expansion to express creativity fueled by love and passion. The key is to utilize this brief window before Jupiter begins to retrograde in Aries on July 28 shortly after the new moon in Leo occurs!
As the Sun in Leo rises to greet the world, the Moon is moving through the last few degrees of Gemini and is void of course until early afternoon. While it may not be verbally expressed, the message of the void Gemini moon is there is not a great deal of emotional motivation to get the day started. While the general influence of void of course moon is interpreted as nothing comes from the emotional energy invested regarding mundane or daily concerns. However, it is very useful to take that emotional break from caretaking, cooking, nurturing, etc. to indulge in meaningful conversations with friends or like-minded others, relax with a good book, and/or contemplate what is necessary to experience hopes, wishes, and dreams, before the Moon swims into emotional Cancer after lunch.
Once the Moon wades into the highly emotional, sensitive, and vulnerable pond of feelings the next couple of days may be colored with emotional moodiness or crabby attitudes that change every few minutes or hours. Thus, the time spent prior to the early afternoon is an opportunity to recharge emotional batteries before they become quickly drained by overwhelming input from others.
Cancer energy is like a sponge in that it feels its way through the environment based on the quality of emotional energy present through others. So if there is tension, emotional stress, or underlying or obvious frustration, it is like dirty water being filtered through a sponge to clean it up.
This may very well be one of those days as Venus in Cancer challenged Jupiter in Aries in the wee hours after midnight. The challenge lies in that Jupiter is ready to jumpstart hopes, wishes, and dreams with the support of Venus in Cancer, leaving significant others to take care of family matters, while providing nurturing and financial support for the manifestation of those dreams. The caveat is that Venus in Cancer is supervised by the Moon who is void of course upon waking, so the brief details that Jupiter provided may have gone unnoticed until later, as emotional attention was focused elsewhere. So what was communicated before everyone went their separate ways may have seemed to have been agreed upon, without realizing what the commitment involved. Another major consideration now is that Jupiter in Aries impulsively takes big risks, so it will be tempting to bite off more than can be digested comfortably, leaving a seven-month window of time to absorb the consequences until February 2023!
On the afternoon of July 26, it slowly begins to sink in that decisions made or communicated from an ego position may become costly in energy and financial resources over a period of time, as Mercury in Leo challenges the actions of Mars in Taurus. Both Leo and Taurus can dig their heels in about compromising or negotiations if either feels like one is being pushed into a position they are uncomfortable with, or left out of the decision-making process. The key is to step back and communicate from the heart what is in the best interest of all concerned and then allow others to take their time to consider the actions that are required on their part, without a condescending attitude.
In the early hours of July 28, the Moon slips into the warm rays of Leo to cuddle up for a night of foretelling dreams about sharing heart-centered feelings upon waking. As the current lunar phase is still balsamic, it is an excellent time to release and let go of fears that may stand in the way. As they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Last but not least, shortly after the new moon occurs, Jupiter begins to retrograde in Aries back into Pisces until November 23, 2022. Jupiter actually began its retrograde cycle on May 4, 2022, at 29 degrees of Pisces when it went into the shadow of the cycle with endless opportunities before it headed into Aries on May 11 to take actions relative to them. Now that Jupiter is backing up in Aries, those actions are being reconsidered for further action. The energy of a planet in Aries is similar to attempting to cook a quality meal quickly without the essential ingredients and then turning the heat up to high with the expectation of eating sooner than later! With Jupiter, it is similar to throwing a pot on the stove, dumping what you have on hand in it, and hoping for the best, or that others won’t notice!
Now, it is time to reread the recipe, purchase the correct ingredients, and plan for the time it takes to prepare it correctly, let it come to a boil, and then put it on the back burner on low heat so that it has time to cook thoroughly and blend all of the flavors together. Get the idea? Rushing through big plans between now and then will likely only become highly frustrating and make require starting over from scratch.

The celestial week of July 18, 2022, begins with the Sun rising up through the warm rays of Cancer, illuminating an opportunity to stop the emotional spin of caretaking to relax and enjoy a few moments more under the covers and allow dreams to complete before rising for a cup to coffee to welcome the day with an attitude of gratitude, before starting off for a work day of activity. The significance of taking a few moments of self-care is important as the Sun in Cancer has a pressure cooker energy. If you can imagine taking the sun and dropping it into a pool of water big enough to hold it, the steam that would envelop the earth would be unimaginable. Thus, the beginning of every summer heats up emotionally, impacting the background and the stage for everything it encounters.
Meanwhile, the Moon is still the star of this energetic dynamic and is finishing up a deep dive into the emotional ocean of Pisces, so those dreams that are occurring upon waking may be foretelling of current or future events. Before the Moon leaves Pisces, there is a brief window (about 30 minutes) to create an inner visualization of a desired reality which then may trigger new insights of awareness to diversify and apply talents in other directions.
Minutes later, the Moon shifts emotional gears as it rushes into impetuous Aries, to instantly act on those insights! The celestial week of July 11, 2022, begins with the Sun rising in nurturing, emotional security-conscious Cancer illuminates an opportunity to break free from the emotional restrictions and expectations of others, which is actually emotional manipulation to satisfy the personal needs of others instead of taking care of oneself. The caveat is that there is also a distinct possibility of feeling the emotional agendas of others without realizing that they aren’t yours because it is being felt or sensed in yourself.
That is the nature of Cancer energy, it feels the emotions of others and the energy of the environment without the conscious ability to distinguish it from itself because it is water energy, and water flows seamlessly from one location to another. So for the time being, it is helpful when something doesn’t feel quite right, to step back and ask yourself, where is this coming from? If you wait a few moments, the answer will likely be revealed and then you can gain clarity about the situation, and whether you want to become a part of it, or respectfully decline.
Meanwhile, the CEO of Cancer is the Moon and it is currently sky-diving through Sagittarius in an adventuresome mood as a distraction from overwhelming feelings and trying to discern what they mean or what to do about them. While the Moon is visiting Sag, it needs the room to roam away from home and experience new emotional journeys without feeling that it is abandoning family because it seeks emotional freedom from the clinging needs of others.
As the Sun and Moon are currently in a gibbous lunar phase and there is an incongruency between respective emotional needs, there is wobbling energy present about nurturing others and the freedom to pursue personal hopes, wishes, and dreams, or cave into the emotional pressure to take care of others.
However, Uranus in Taurus is also involved in this dynamic with the Sun in Cancer and the Moon in Sagittarius as a yod configuration. Yods are considered to be mystical energy symbolizing a problem or issue in life that requires an attitude adjustment through an opportunity of communication to resolve incongruent principles or ideas. It is also considered to be very karmic or the “finger of God” pointing to a predestined destiny.
Thus, today may begin with an unexpected feeling of emotional stress that begs one to break free of as the Sun in Cancer may feel threatened by the Moon in Sagittarius needing to be emotionally free and Uranus in Taurus feels stuck in the middle between the value of caring for others and feeling emotionally free of them at the same time. As a result, relationships with others may undergo a breaking point if each one does not honor their own independent needs and pursue them without needing approval from one another. So, today would be a great day to take time off for some personal me time, to keep from feeling that relationships are emotionally choking the life out of you, or restricting your freedom.
In the early hours of July 12, the emotional climate shifts from emotional pleasure-seeking energy to avoid feeling emotions to focusing on serious business relationships as the Moon plants itself on the Capricorn mountain of career success.
The initial encounter that the Moon in Capricorn experiences is a positive one with Mars in Taurus, so the day begins on a note of motivation to move forward with valuable actions to manifest hopes, wishes, and dreams with like-minded others. However, Saturn the CEO of Capricorn in retrograde in Aquarius, so authorities are not inclined to step on an unknown limb without some evidence that innovative ideas are going to produce success.
Yet, Venus in Gemini may just be able to pull a rabbit out of its hat and convince them to sign on the dotted line with quick thinking and unique solutions. The caveat is that it also has to feel right or it may be back to the drawing board.
Before the day ends, Mercury in Cancer squares off with Chiron in Aries and may trigger childhood or family memories that set the stage for wounds of abandonment to surface to be healed from the perspective of the adult instead of the wounded child within. While it may be tempting to relive the emotional past, it will only serve as a reminder of the emotional pain experienced instead of becoming free to live life to the fullest.
On the afternoon of July 13, a full lunar phase occurs as the Moon in Capricorn opposes the Sun in Cancer, illuminating an opportunity to balance priorities between home and family responsibilities with career and business goals and ambitions. It is an interesting full moon as the Sun and Moon have symbolically switched places as the Moon in Capricorn is focused on business and the Sun in Cancer is more concerned with home and family. It is similar to Mr. Mom and Mrs. Corporate Executive, which helps each one to understand the role of the other and work together as a partnership with equality and respect for one another.
Minutes after July 14 arrives, other challenges may occur as old victim issues surface for resolution through communication as Venus in Gemini squares off with Neptune in Pisces. Since this occurs as you either are asleep or drifting off, sleep may be restless as unsettling dreams symbolically provide hidden or unconscious emotions as information about relationships. The celestial week of July 4, 2022, begins on a celebratory note for the United States as its 246 birthday arrives as the Sun rises in caring Cancer, illuminating an opportunity and a reminder that America was founded on openness and willingness to extend oneself to others in light of the personal freedom that the citizens of the US experiences daily.
Cancer energy is governed by the Moon which has influence over the masses, food, nurturing, emotional feelings, and home and family. Thus, there is an inherent nature to care for others that are less fortunate and/or unable to care for themselves. However, the caveat with Cancer energy is that there is an unconscious tendency to become dependent on others, and in effect sacrifice their personal freedom to make choices for themselves. Thus, the key is to teach others to care for themselves with a demonstration of responsible behaviors and actions that encourage healthy and sustainable growth emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Meanwhile, the Moon and the main character currently stealing the show from the Sun in Cancer is moving through detail-oriented Virgo, revealing secret motives and agendas through casual conversations relative to recent events concerning home, family, and children, which may set off fireworks before they begin!
Mercury, the messenger of the planets and CEO of Virgo is finishing up a visit in curious Gemini (another sign guided by Mercury) with dual and covert messages that there are opportunities of enormous potential and talent to take advantage of by taking an existing idea or concept, make sense of it, and improve upon it for the current times and conditions. The key is recognizing the potential and being the first one on the block to see the opportunity and go for it!
In the early hours of July 5, the energetic climate shifts significantly as the action-oriented planet Mars goes from red hot reactive Aries into slow down responsive Taurus regarding actions. Mars in Taurus prefers to take its time and weigh all of the available factors before making financial decisions and relationships, so it is time to take a step back and reconsider all available options that will improve or escalate in value.
Venus, the queen of Taurus, resources, and relating is moving through quick-silver Gemini and is prepared to sell anyone the Brooklyn Bridge or oceanfront property in Arizona with her charming sales pitch served up with flattery and come hither looks! Yet, Venus loves to hedge her bets with a partner to back up her play, so it seeks to engage Mercury the CEO of Gemini for information, ideas, and opportunities to take advantage of while there is more than one choice at hand!
However, minutes later Mercury swims into emotional Cancer and choices made the night before are going to be filtered through emotional feelings, which are subject to change every two and a half days, relative to home, family, and children. Not to mention that the sensitivity gauge is going up as Mercury and the Sun travel through Cancer. Fortunately, the Moon is still in Virgo until the end of the workday, so common sense will likely prevail to stop the emotional train going off the tracks.
Later, the Moon travels into cooperative, politically correct, Libra so emotional feelings may become more balanced as all sides are considered in light of fairness and equality. However, there may be some attitude adjustments at hand if Mars in Taurus is resistant to taking actions it is not ready to. Both Libra and Taurus are supervised by charming Venus, so the silver tongue devil may just win this round!
However, it is wise to choose words with care as the Moon in Libra and Venus in Gemini may step on the sensitive toes of Mercury in Cancer if teasing remarks are made that feel unkind or inconsiderate. Thus, the next couple of days may seem like a series of ups and downs in relationships which requires putting out emotional fires with sincere apologies and more importantly, a demonstration of changed behavior.
In the early hours of July 8, the Moon quietly slips into intense emotional Scorpio with a passionate desire to transform subconscious emotions that sneak up without warning about self-values. Mars, the daily CEO in charge of Scorpio is moving slowly and quietly through Taurus and as it initially opposes the Moon in Scorpio, there is a mirroring effect that is unsettling and may be a catalyst to project unresolved and unconscious issues onto others. Not that it will work, mind you. No, Mars in Taurus will just return the unrelenting stare and emotional scorn of Scorpio with a silence that requires no words.
Therefore, it is up to Pluto the transcendental ruler of Scorpio and who has retreated into Capricorn to step out of the shadows and rein in the torrent of emotional rage about to be released into the Universe, with a stern reminder that what is sent out comes back to the sender with a force to be reckoned with!
As luck would have it as a distraction, shortly after breakfast another planetary challenging encounter is set up between the Sun in Cancer and Chiron in Aries as old emotional wounds may have the bandage ripped off without warning when the Sun in Cancer takes a trip back down memory lane as subconscious unresolved feelings resurface to be healed. Now, that the Moon in Scorpio has been reprimanded by Pluto, it is up to the task of taking actions based on the reflection of a long look in the mirror of the soul. Thus, the weekend is a great opportunity to spend some quality time with oneself to set the wheels in motion.

The celestial week of June 27, 2022, begins with the Sun rising in watery, sensitive Cancer illuminating an opportunity to create a foundation of emotional caring, comfort, and security by sharing similar thoughts with like-minder others, leading to new understandings, ideas, and concepts.
Meanwhile, the Moon is breezing through chatty, curious Gemini entertaining ideas that may trigger emotional feelings as epiphanies which then filter through Mercury, the planetary conduit of communication and connections, and is also traveling through quick-thinking Gemini with an opportunity to go from reacting with the lower emotional nature to thinking with the higher mind.
As the Sun moves through Cancer through July 22, emotions will shift about every two and a half days as the Moon changes astrological constellations. Therefore, it would be useful to take a step back when an emotional reaction begins to drive behavior, and contemplate what other options are available instead of instinctively reacting? Then the conscious process of thinking about feelings, instead of reacting to them has the potential to change the circumstances favorably.
In the early hours of June 28, the emotional volume is turned up as the Moon slips into protective Cancer, offering an opportunity to let go of any negative feelings that may unconsciously create emotional insecurity. Think of Cancer energy as an emotional barometer that is always measuring a state of security/insecurity in the background or at the unconscious level, and then filters up as feelings of happiness, sadness, anger, peace, etc. which are physically felt in the body as anticipation, eagerness, depression, an adrenaline rush, hopelessness, or a lack of motivation. Now, depending on what is being felt physically, therein lies the solution or information to consciously release negative emotions or proceed with positive ones.
Later in the evening, challenges may arrive in the context of relating, as the Sun in Cancer maybe become emotionally defensive about Jupiter in Aries taking actions without the consideration of mutual discussions, which may ignite a demonstration of emotional fireworks set off by knee-jerk reactions! In reality, it probably isn’t meant to be personal, it’s just that the cosmic weather is currently symbolizing a pressure cooker environment and it doesn’t take much to set things in motion!
Before the end of the day, a new moon cycle in Cancer occurs with an opportunity to create a new habit in regard to the ability to unconsciously react or consciously respond to emotional triggers relative to security, family, home, nurturing, and children. As the new moon in Cancer is a first-quarter solar/lunar square to Jupiter in Aries, those triggers may be tested as to where you are currently operating from regarding the purpose of emotions. Do you consciously use them as feedback about changes you can make to experience a greater quality of life, or as an excuse to stay stuck in what is familiar, yet uncomfortable?
Regardless of how you use feelings, now is an opportunity to use emotions to fulfill your purpose in life, which could be why Jupiter in Aries may be motivating you to take a leap of faith even if it feels uncomfortable. Cancer energy can be very childlike, so it is easy now to want others to take care of you, but along with that care comes the potential and the likelihood of being controlled by others. Thus, personal freedom comes with a price, and it is called being responsible for yourself.
On the evening of June 30, the Moon blazes into heart-warming or egotistic Leo with an emotional opportunity to shine from a golden heart of love within or freeze others out with an arrogant attitude of superiority. One will be as inviting as a warm, cozy fire while the other will leave one feeling unloved and left out. So the next couple of days is an opportunity to choose which one feels best as the Moon in Leo is governed by the Sun in Cancer reflecting that no one really cares what your status is, what you own, or what you think, as much as they care about the way you make them feel, which is returned back to you tenfold!

The celestial week of June 20, 2022, begins with the Sun rising in airy, dualistic Gemini at twenty-nine degrees, illuminating an opportunity to consciously master the quality of thoughts that creates personal reality, and whether you look beyond superficial appearances to discover the beauty of your mind, and that of others. The inherent nature of Gemini is that it is dualistic and that it often changes the course of thought as quickly as changing a radio station for the desired song instead of the one that is playing. Thus, undesired thoughts can also be changed, once you become conscious of the potential consequences that they can attract.
Mercury, the planetary agent of thoughts is also traveling forward over the mental ground that has already been covered since May 10, 2022. However, now there is a greater awareness and clarity of what was being communicated then, as evidence of those thoughts is manifesting. Another consideration about the recent Mercury retrograde in Gemini is that Mars will begin its retrograde cycle on September 3, so ideas that are being considered for implementation now may preview a reverse cycle that will continue through March 15, 2023, when the Mars retrograde cycle ends.
Therefore, the key to moving through the rest of the year without experiencing reverse decisions is to pay careful attention now to the message you are receiving now about the direction you are going in before the summer ends, as the remainder of the year is being highlighted now. Another consideration is to avoid unconsciously jumping on the train of accepting information as factual from others and/or the news as being true for you. However, it is a fruitful time to consciously create your personal reality and experiences from clear thoughts, emotions, and desires, instead of following or becoming one of the herd.
Meanwhile, the Moon is floating on the oceanic currents of Pisces and may be content to unconsciously ride the waves of emotional illusions instead of seeking information to reveal them. Therefore, it will be tempting to drift through the day and miss a great opportunity to use emotions to create unlimited potential through imagination, art, hypnosis, and/or meditation. As the Moon in Pisces interacts favorably with Neptune in Pisces, Pluto in Capricorn, and Venus in Taurus, dreams that may seem to be out of reach can be realized by accepting the responsibility that goes along with transforming them into manifestation through Pluto in Capricorn, and become a source of sustainable income and resources as they are grounded in the solid self-values of Venus in Taurus and the willingness to be the authority in your life.
Fortunately, the Sun and Moon are engaged in the third quarter lunar phase, so while it would be easy to emotionally disappear into overwhelming feelings or play instead of working, there is an inherent last call to step up to the plate of your original intentions of the Gemini new moon cycle and put for the required effort and actions to bring them forth into manifestation.
Another significant planetary occurrence today is that Venus is currently positioned at twenty-six degrees of Taurus, which is also activating the recent lunar eclipse of May 15, 2022. As such, a new beginning is at hand regarding financial resources, self-values, and relationships that stand the test of time. The key to Taurus values is quality versus quantity, so planting positive seeds of self-worth, gratitude, and a simpler way of life in the fertile ground of thoughts can lead to experiencing a harvest of quality that you deserve and desire over the next nineteen years!
The emotional climate shifts before the day ends when the Moon races into impulsive Aries with a huge desire to move forward with big plans and opportunities to increase financial resources! Jupiter, Chiron, and Mars are also moving through action-oriented Aries and are more than ready for a new adventure! The caveat is that significant changes will be on the table when morning arrives when the Sun swims into watery Cancer, which can either put the motivational fire out or turn up pressure cooker heat on it!
In the early hours of June 21, the Sun announces the arrival of summer in the northern hemisphere as it moves into Cancer, and it promises to be a hot one as the Sun has reached the highest elevation in the sky proclaiming the Summer Solstice!
The word solstice means, “sun standing still” before it begins its descent, symbolizing that it is time to pause and determine a course of action based on information gathered during the previous forty-five days in relation to the intentions chosen for the solar year and planted at the 2022 Spring Equinox. From the perspective of the solar cycle, this is the first quarter solar phase where one separates from the whole to seek individuality. It is the time to step out and achieve all that you desire without human support. (1)
If you remember a time when you were about seven years old and made the decision to run away from home to either escape authority or for a new adventure, this is very similar. The caveat is that as you are running or pedaling away on your bike, you may have overlooked the fact that you had either left without your lunch or forgot to ask mom or dad for the money to buy it! Only now, as it was then, you have to provide it!
However, the actions taken during this phase are based on emotions without knowing the outcome, so whether you are ready or not, it is time to move forward! The caveat now is that the Sun in Cancer seeks security and as the Moon, Jupiter, Chiron, and Mars are all in Aries, emotional temptation to take off for adventures may override the caution of being ready for them. Another factor is that feelings may ignite situations out of control as emotional temperatures may run high without warning, causing tempers to rage quickly and dangerously as knee-jerk reactions override common sense.
The key is to refrain from taking anything personally, as others are also feeling vulnerable, sensitive, and insecure. Instead, see it for what it is and nurture yourself however you need to.
On the evening of June 22, Venus scoots happily into fun-loving Gemini, so it’s time to take a break and play with creativity and flirt with romance! Mercury, the CEO of Gemini is currently sitting at nine degrees of Gemini, which was the degree of the Gemini new moon cycle on May 30, so something is stirring in the air through communication which will be activated by highlighted on July 1 when Venus reaches the ninth degree of Gemini, and then activated on September 3, when Mars arrives there.
What does that mean? A new cycle began on May 30, regarding your purpose in relation to communication and connections, yet Mercury the ruler of Gemini was retrograde so there was a lack of clarity then, which is being revealed now offering a new perspective and opportunity to clarify choices and self-values. Then on July 1, information will become available about the resources required to accomplish the purpose that was seeded on May 30, at the new moon cycle in Gemini, and clarified now. On September 3, when Mars arrives, actions will follow to move forward, yet may have to be reversed or reconsidered until January 12, 2023, when Mars moves forward, and then finalized on March 23, 2023.
Whew! That’s a lot of energy being distributed over a period of time, and the caveat with Gemini energy is that is similar to butterflies, flitting from one flower to another without a care in the world! So the inherent challenge is to remain focused on your purpose relevant to communication, connections, and more importantly, purposefully creating reality with consistent and positive thoughts! It will be easy to become distracted by shiny things, but all that glitters is not gold.
The emotional climate settles down on the morning of June 23, as the Moon meanders into calm and stable Taurus, offering a brief emotional respite for the recent and heightened emotional charged activities of the Moon in Aries. However, Venus the ruler of Taurus has just ventured into quick-thinking Gemini and is ready to spend time and money on having fun! No doubt, road trips are on the horizon, regardless of the price of gas!
