Cosmic Insights – July 13, 2026

The celestial week of July 13, 2026, begins with the Sun rising in emotionally instinctive Cancer, illuminating an opportunity to anchor faith to materialize opportunities on the horizon relative to home, family, emotional security, and ambition. The Sun in Cancer is governed by the Moon, also currently in Cancer, and is balsamic to the Sun, reflecting an opportunity to let go of unconscious emotional insecurities seeded in childhood experiences to emulate higher forms of being, or move forward thoughtfully into a more intelligent, more successful quality of life.

The caveat is that the Moon in Cancer is currently ruling the Sun in Cancer, and is unconsciously struggling with power struggles to gain or maintain relationships, which will have a boomerang effect as Jupiter in Leo opposes Pluto retrograde in Aquarius. A shift in perspective through the lens of analytical values can facilitate an internal emotional shift that acknowledges the power struggle and disarms it with emotional clarity.

Venus, the planet of relating, is also in a yod configuration with Neptune retrograde in Aries and Pluto retrograde in Aquarius, processing personal self-values in relationship to others to dissolve idealistic projections onto partners and avoid taking responsibility for unconscious, elusive actions designed to maintain separation from others, to avoid the unconscious fear of losing one’s identity in a relationship.

The key to resolving unconscious feelings of insecurity before the new moon cycle in Cancer on July 14th lies in owning them and releasing them in a comforting, nurturing, and caring manner, while taking responsibility for them rather than projecting them onto others. Otherwise, the risk of engaging in dysfunctional emotional connections may continue to surface until the lesson is learned.

In the early hours of July 14th, a new moon cycle occurs in Cancer with a new beginning to come to terms with inner worth regarding emotional security and nurturing while rowing your own boat and steering your own course. The new moon cycle is a first-quarter square to the Aries new moon cycle this past April, indicating a symbolic turning point to take actions based on emotions without knowing the outcome, yet emotionally trusting it with no attachments to the outcome.

Sounds good. Is it doable? Cancer energy is very sensitive, vulnerable, and flighty when it feels insecure. The caveat is that emotional security comes from trusting the instincts to take action when feelings provide indicators that something doesn’t feel right. However, Mercury, the planetary messenger, is still retrograde in Cancer, so emotions may change every two and a half hours until it turns direct on July 23, 2026.

However, the light at the end of the tunnel occurred on the evening of July 12, as Mercury and the Sun united, signifying that there is an opportunity to kick off the new moon with emotional clarity.  

Later in the evening, the Moon lights up the stage of the sky as it joins Jupiter in Leo with dazzling emotional charisma if it comes from the heart instead of the ego. The Moon’s ruler in Leo now is the Sun in Cancer, so metaphorically, the energies have switched places. The Sun in Cancer is shining its light on emotional feelings that have been playing out since June 21, while the Moon in Leo is reflecting back the light of unconditional love if it has the courage of a lion to do so.

On the evening of July 16th, the Moon settles down in practical Virgo to analytically process highly charged and changing feelings since June 17th. The caveat is that the process may become emotionally exhausting before clear conclusions can surface because information is coming through feelings until August 9th, when Mercury enters Leo.

Since this week is saturated with emotional feelings more than challenges and conflicts, it is a great week to settle in, enjoy home-cooked meals away from the noise of life, to soothe, heal, and create an environment of gentleness, caring, and comfort.
